Debbie Moose wins in food writing contest
Debbie Moose received third place in the Essay category for the Association of Food Journalists' annual writing contest. She received the honor for Sunday Dinner, her monthly column published in The News & Observer of Raleigh, N.C.
This makes Debbie a six-time Essay winner in the AFJ contest, including five first-place awards. Winners for 2009 were announced during the group's
annual meeting. She won for an entry consisting of the columns "Savor BLTs of Summer" and "Figorous summer: Connections, climate help to secure cherished fruit."
The Association of Food Journalists is a nationwide group of professional food writers for newspapers, magazines and online. Members must adhere to high ethical and professional standards.
