Debbie Moose was named one of three finalists in the Essay category for the Association of Food Journalists' annual writing contest. She received the honor for Sunday Dinner, her monthly column in The News & Observer of Raleigh, N.C.

Debbie is a five-time winner of the AFJ contest. Winners for 2009 will be announced during the group's annual meeting in New Orleans in October.

The Association of Food Journalists is a nationwide group of professional food writers for newspapers, magazines and online. Members must adhere to high ethical and professional standards.
